What an exciting weekend in regard to the All White’s winning their match against Bahrain.    We haven’t been to the World Cup since the 1980’s and we have finally achieved in the next World Cup competition.      What tenacity, resilience and determination to keep plugging away for all those years by many many people who believed we could do it.

Are you as resilient and determined in your life in order to achieve what you want?  Or do you just wilt at the first obstacle?    Are there are lot of  but’s at the beginning of an idea or plan that things don’t even get off the ground?  Are you influenced by what others say or might say?  It can be quite difficult to achieve something at times.  I think it’s really important when we decide what we want that the vision is very clear.  No half hearted goals but clear language “We will qualify for the football world cup”,  ” I will lose 10 kg’s”.  Upfront it’s making determinded clear statments of intention in order to set the scene for going forward.  Then it’s managing the “but’s” along the way.  The mindtalk that says oh well I feel like drinking tonight and you do but that wasn’t part of the weight loss plan.   It’s also being realistic.  The All White’s setting a goal now of winning the world cup would be totally unrealistic.   What goals we do set and how we manage the challenges  that occur when we are trying to achieve goals, will determine our success.
